<title>Coding the Architecture - What is architecture?</title>
<link>http://www.codingthearchitecture.com/2006/02/15/what_is_architecture.html</link>
<description> Here&#039;s a short definition of architecture that somebody made after a presentation Paul and I did last week. Architecture is the stuff that you can&#039;t refactor in an afternoon. I got a kind of &#034;yeah, that&#039;s actually about right&#034; feeling. What do you ...</description>

      Instead of defining architecture by defining the areas of its non-inclusion architecture should be defined by what it compromises. very simply put, architecture is the design of a system to facilitate a goal or an outcome.

      I&#039;m not so sure I agree, although I see where you are coming from. To take an example, an afternoon gives me enough time to put together a skeleton web application built upon a framework and a handful of guiding principles. Fast forward a few months and this architecture becomes ingrained, which leads to the conclusion that you can&#039;t refactor it in an afternoon.

    <description>
      Architecture is also something you can&#039;t build in an afternoon as well.
